If you’ve decided that it’s time to cancel your Spectora subscription, whether due to changing business needs or other reasons, it’s important to understand the process and what to expect. Canceling your subscription is straightforward, but there are a few key details to consider, such as how it affects your data and account access.
In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to cancel your Spectora subscription, ensuring a smooth transition and addressing any concerns you might have along the way.
Pausing Your Subscription
Unfortunately, Spectora does not have a way to pause a subscription. If you have a monthly subscription, you can easily cancel your subscription before the next billing date, and resubscribe when ready to return.
Additionally, all your data including templates, past inspections, and accounting details will remain securely stored, ensuring seamless continuity when you return.
With annual subscriptions, you can cancel the subscription at any time and resubscribe at any time as well.*
If you have an additional inspector who is no longer working with you, you can unassign them from the subscription and leave it "active" until you hire a new inspector.
*Note: Refunds or prorated credits are not given when canceling a subscription. You can view our full refund policy for more information.
Canceling Your Subscription
This section provides step-by-step instructions for canceling your software subscription. While we don't offer a way to pause or hold a subscription, you can cancel your subscription and resubscribe when you're ready.
Click on your profile picture in the top right
Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu
Click "Subscriptions"
Click "Cancel" next to the subscription you wish to cancel
When canceling a subscription, there will not be a refund or credit for any unused days. It is recommended to cancel before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next month or year.
If your subscription is canceled during an active billing cycle, access will continue until the term ends, and billing will stop for subsequent cycles.
Note: When canceling your subscription, your account remains "active" in the system. Keeping your account active allows you to still access your account and see your templates, settings, and reports. You will not be able to schedule a new inspection until a new subscription is set up and paid for. Once you cancel your subscription, you will not be billed any further.
Frequently Asked Questions
I don't do a lot of business/inspections at the moment, do you have a pay-per-inspection option?
At this time, we don't have a pay-per-inspection option. We offer monthly and yearly software subscriptions only.
I have both a software subscription and a website through Spectora. If I cancel the software subscription, what happens to my website?
If you cancel only the software subscription, your website subscription will remain active and your site will remain online. Website hosting is its own subscription and will remain active until you cancel it separately.
Why might my subscription renewal date differ from expected?
Deviations in renewal dates can occur due to adjustments made to your account or to align the subscription with your account setup. Additional services like website hosting may follow a separate renewal schedule distinct from the primary subscription.
I added a new inspector to my team but he doesn't need access for a couple of months. Can I suspend his account?
We aren't able to suspend or pause subscriptions at this time. You can cancel the subscription for now, and then reactivate it when you need it.
Why do I receive multiple renewal emails? Does it mean I’m being billed multiple times?
Receiving multiple renewal emails may indicate you have multiple active subscriptions, such as a software subscription and a website hosting subscription. These are separate services, and each has its own renewal notification. You will only be billed for individually subscribed services, not duplicate charges for the same service.
I didn't want to renew my subscription, why was I charged?
All subscriptions will automatically renew unless you cancel prior to your billing date.
I have two accounts with Spectora, one of which I no longer use because I no longer do business in that area. I don't need that account to be active anymore. However, I may still need access to past inspection reports for up to 6 months. Is there a way to deactivate the account but retain access to the reports? Can I merge the two accounts into one?
If you no longer need the additional profile, you can cancel the subscription for that account.
When canceling your subscription, your account remains "active" in the system. Keeping your account active allows you to still access your account and see your templates, settings, and reports. You will not be able to schedule a new inspection until a new subscription is set up and paid for. Once you cancel your subscription, you will not be billed any further.
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to merge two profiles into one. Each profile is treated as a separate account with its own data.
I need to cancel a subscription, but I have a grandfathered rate. Will I be able to keep that rate if I cancel?
Unfortunately not. When you cancel a subscription with grandfathered pricing, you will lose that pricing. Resubscribing is subject to our current pricing.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your data, including templates, past inspections, reports, and accounting information, will remain securely stored and accessible. When you reactivate your subscription, all your data will be available, ensuring seamless continuity.
Can my clients access previous reports if my subscription is canceled?
Yes, your clients can continue accessing their previous reports through their client portals even after you cancel your subscription.
How does auto-renewal work for Spectora subscriptions?
All Spectora subscriptions are enabled for auto-renewal by default. If your renewal occurred automatically, it's because the subscription is designed to renew based on the original purchase plan unless canceled manually. To avoid charges for the next cycle, it is important to cancel the subscription before the billing date.
