There are a few reasons why a reinspection may be necessary. It can be a helpful option if you need to revisit an inspection site for any of the following reasons: if repairs have been completed, if you were unable to inspect the area beforehand, or if the client simply requests one. The reinspection tool is a great feature that allows you to easily include any previous defects in a new report. This way, you can thoroughly reinspect and address any issues that may have been missed before.
In this article, we will go over the steps for enabling reinspections in your settings. Additionally, we will discuss the two available options for scheduling and setting up a reinspection report. Lastly, we will explore the process of creating a reinspection report on both the website and the app.
✨ If you're more of a visual learner, check out our YouTube video or this article for additional information.
How to Enable Reinspections
To schedule a reinspection, you'll need to enable the option to create a reinspection report. Follow the step-by-step guide below to enable this feature.
From your dashboard, click "Settings."
Under "Report Options," click "Report Tools."
Click "Enable Reinspections."
How to Schedule a Reinspection
We offer you two convenient options for scheduling a reinspection. Option 1 allows you to create a brand-new inspection page including a reinspection report. Alternatively, option 2 allows you to add a reinspection report to an existing or previously built inspection. We'll guide you through both options in this section so you have all the information you need.
Option #1: How to Schedule a Reinspection as a New Inspection
One way to schedule reinspections is by adding a new inspection to your schedule from the Internal Scheduler. Just like when scheduling any other inspection, you'll have the opportunity to select your services. However, please keep in mind that selecting your usual service may not be the best fit for your reiinspection. You can easily set up a Reinspection Service with specific fees under Settings > Services & Fees. No need to add a default template for this setup, as you'll be creating the report from the original inspection. And if you'd like, you can also create a new Reinspection Agreement with terms for this service under Settings > Agreements. We hope this helps make your reinspection process smoother and more efficient!
Click "View" under the report you would like to set up the re-inspection for.
Click "Report Tools" in the top right corner.
Select "Schedule Reinspection."
If you want to revisit all defects, click "Select Visible Defects."
If you do not want all defects included, simply check which defects you want added.
Once your defects have been selected, click "Save Report for Inspection."
Add the time/date of the re-inspection.
Add a service
Enter any additional scheduling information.
Click "Save."
Option #2: Adding a Reinspection Report to an Existing Inspection
Do you want to avoid scheduling a new inspection? Have you already scheduled a reinspection? You can add a reinspection report to your existing inspection by following the guide below!
Click the three dots next to the report you will reinspect.
Click "Reinspection Report."
Enter the address of the existing inspection you would like the report to be added to.
Click on the inspection.
Select your defects by clicking "Select Visible Defects" or checking which defects you want to inspect.
Once your defects are checked, click "Copy Report To Inspection."
How to Write a Reinspection Report on the Web
When creating a reinspection report, you will follow a similar format as a regular report, but with a few variations. The sections, items, and comments you have access to will be specific to the defects you selected during the reinspection scheduling process we previously discussed.
The comment will include your original findings and any photos you took. If the issue has been resolved, you can simply check the "Resolved" option and add a new photo to document the update. If the defect is still unresolved, you can leave the "Resolved" option unchecked.
You can also update the Header Text to better reflect your reinspection service by clicking the report name > Header Text. Check out this article for more details on how to update this.
Click "Edit" under the Reinspection Report.
Open the defect comment.
If the defect has been fixed, select the "Resolved" option. If the issue hasn't been resolved, leave the comment as unresolved.
Add your updated photo by adding it into the "Drag Updated Photos here" box, or by using the "+Photo" option.
How to Write a Reinspection Report on the App:
When writing a reinspection report on the app, defects comments will automatically default to "unresolved" or a thumbs down. You can change this by tapping on the thumb icon, which makes it easy to toggle back and forth between "unresolved" or "resolved". And don't forget, you can also add or take photos just like you normally would.
🔴 Please be aware that reinspections conducted on V9 Legacy cannot be finalized on V10 and vice versa. If you encounter an error stating that the inspection is incompatible, you will need to convert the reinspection to the same form used for the original inspection.
Click "Start" on the Re-inspection Report.
Open the section.
Open the item.
Locate the defect comment.
Click the thumbs-up icon to toggle between resolved and not resolved.
Add an updated photo by clicking any of the photo options.
