You may have noticed that some items in your template and report do not have the option to add defect comments. This is because "General" items are usually for informational purposes only and do not require defect comments.
If you do need to add a defect to these items for any reason, don't worry! This article will guide you through the steps to enable that option.
How to Add a Defect to Your Template
We highly recommend enabling this option in your template settings to ensure that this defect appears on all of your reports. Follow the easy steps below on how to enable the defect comments on your template.
Click "Templates."
Click the pencil icon next to the item you want to add the defect to.
Uncheck the "Info Item."
Click "Save."
You should now see the option to add a defect by clicking "+ New."
How to Add a Defect to Your Report
If you ever come across a unique situation where you need to include a defect in a general or informational item on a single report, don't worry! We have a simple solution for you. Just follow the steps below to turn off the "info only" option on your report. This will allow you to easily add the necessary defect.
Click "Edit" under the report.

When I create a Section, why can't I get an Observation comment?
It might be that the Item you've added is currently marked as Information Only. Follow the steps above to change the item as this will allow you to add defects.
I created a new section and I am trying to add findings/recommendations to it, but I only see the limitation option. Why can I only see Informational and Limitation?
