How to Add or Remove the Overview Grid from Reports

This article will walk you through how to locate and add or remove the Overview tab/grid from your template and your report. The Overview tab and grid can be added to or removed from a template, a report, or an individual section.


What is the Overview Tab/Grid?

You may have seen the Overview tab/grid on another inspector's report, one of the sample reports on our website, or even on your own inspection report. This tab contains the grid for your Item Ratings - the Inspected (IN), Not Inspected (NI), Not Present (NP), and Defect (D) boxes you select while filling out the report.

Finding the Overview Tab/Grid in Your Template

This section will show you step-by-step instructions on how to locate and enable or disable the Overview Grid on your template.

  1. Click "Templates"

  2. Click "My Templates"

  3. Select your template from the dropdown menu

  4. Click the 3 dots on the right

  5. Click "Template Settings"

  6. Click "Item Ratings"

  7. Check the box to "Display Item Ratings Grid in Report"

  8. Click "Save"


Enabling and Disabling the Overview Tab/Grid For Certain Sections in Your Template

This section will show you step-by-step instructions on how to enable or disable the Overview Grid per section in your template. You may want to hide the overview grid for certain sections that are informational only and don't include inspected items. Usually sections like "General" or "Inspection Details" don't need the overview grid or tab.

  1. Click "Templates"

  2. Click "My Templates"

  3. Select your template from the dropdown menu

  4. Click the ✏️ icon next to the section name

  5. To remove the overview grid, check the box "Hide the Overview grid/tab for this section"

  6. To add the overview grid, uncheck the box to display the Overview grid and tab for that section

  7. Click "Save"

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I make the 'Information' tab the default tab on my web reports?

    • In order to make the 'Information' tab the default/first tab on your report, you will need to disable the overview grid for that section.

    • When the overview grid is enabled, the 'Overview' tab will show as the first/default tab on the reports.

  • Why is the IN/NI/NP/D grid/checklist missing from my report?

    • If the overview grid is enabled in your template, your Item Ratings are likely not set up correctly. You can read more about setting up Item Ratings in your template in this article.
