There are a few reasons you might need to change an order ID number: adopting a new numbering system, fixing a numerical gap between inspections, or addressing other specific needs. Whatever the case, you can edit the order ID either during scheduling or afterward.
In this article, we'll show you how to change/edit the order ID number on your inspections.
How to Change the Order ID Number During Scheduling
While scheduling a new inspection, you can easily edit the order ID number. Follow the steps below to see how.
Click "+ New Inspection"
Schedule your inspection as usual
Edit the Order ID number in the Miscellaneous section
Click "Save Inspection"
The new Order ID will show with a -1 in the Internal box
✨ The system will then automatically +1 next time you schedule and pick up from the new number.
How to Change the Order ID Number on an Existing Inspection
In this section, we'll show you how to change the order ID number after an inspection has been scheduled.
Click on the inspection to open the Inspection Details page
Edit the Order ID number in the Internal box
Click outside of the Internal box to save
You'll see a green "Saved!" flag when done
🔴 Use caution when inputting special characters like a hyphen, as this can break the OID output.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the system not automatically adding the +1 to my OID?
The system will only automatically add the +1 when the Order ID is entered during internal scheduling. It will not +1 when editing in the internal box on the inspection details page.
The system also follows the largest OID in sequential order, so you'll need to ensure that any previous OIDs that are larger are fixed/updated.
