We recently rolled out an updated experience for the internal Order Form (New Inspection Form) and it's available for everyone!
This new Order Form offers a cleaner, more user-friendly experience for scheduling. It also lays the groundwork for upcoming features. Under the hood we've enhanced key workflow elements to ensure long-term efficiency for your business, including a better experience for entering inspection orders on a mobile device.
✨ Note: Using this new version of the Order Form is optional at this time.
Video Walk-Through
Before diving in, check out this video walk-through on the New Order Form:
What's New?
The New Order Form now has each section clearly outlined. The right-hand column displays a live order summary that updates as you fill out the form, replacing the old section navigation buttons.
The summary panel is pinned while you scroll the form and is wider than before, giving you more room to review entries.
Five section headers appear in the panel: Client Details, Property Details, Agent Details, Availability, and Services. Each header links to that section of the form so you can still jump directly to it.
Sections with nothing entered show Not added yet, so gaps are easy to spot.
Property Details shows the full address along with square footage, year built, and foundation when those values are entered.
Services shows a running line-item table with taxes, discounts, and the order total.
Availability shows the selected date, time with job duration, and assigned inspectors with a Primary tag.
Client Details and Agent Details list the first entries with a +N more indicator when there are additional clients or agents.
A new Save as draft button at the bottom of the summary panel saves the order as a draft and keeps you on the form. Drafts still save automatically when you navigate away from a partially filled form, same as before.
The summary panel displays on desktop only. On smaller screens the form uses the full width and the panel is hidden.
Referral Source now has its own section directly below the Client section.
The Property section now shows the property photo and ancillary info directly over the entry.
The Services section now provides a cleaner layout, especially with regards to any manual edits to entries.
When you click "Edit Charges" it opens to a new, cleaner window for ease of editing.
The Order Settings section (previously Miscellaneous) was also updated so it is easier to see and work with any Custom Scheduling Fields. Another small change is if your order has the "Confirmed Inspection" checkbox selected then the "Save" button now reads "Schedule" for improved clarity when booking.
Integrations options and the selector to use V10 reporting (if it isn't already your default) are also included in the Order Settings section.
Admins can now assign each Custom Scheduling Field to any section of the new order form, instead of all custom fields being grouped at the bottom under Order Settings.
Custom fields render at the bottom of their assigned section, after that section's built-in fields.
Existing fields are unchanged — any field without an assigned section stays in Order Settings.
There are two ways to assign a section:
From the field editor — open the edit modal for any custom scheduling field and pick the order form section it should appear in.
2. Drag and drop — from the Manage Custom Scheduling Fields page, enter edit mode and drag fields between sections.
⚠️ Note: Section placement applies to the new order form only. The Legacy New Inspection Form is not affected, though the configuration is still visible if your company hasn't switched to the new order form yet. Configuration requires Admin permission.
How can I use this?
For now, the New Order Form is accessible via a link in the upper right corner of the current New Inspection Form.
The new form will open a new tab so you don't lose any info you may have already entered into the current form.
On the New Order Form you will see an option at the top to make the new order form your default so you don't have the extra step of first accessing the older order form. If you choose to do this, you will still have the option to switch the default back to the old order form if needed.
Once you "Save" or "Schedule" the order everything works the same as it does with the current form.
You will not lose access to the current form at this time. We want to ensure that we do not interrupt your day-to-day operations as you get used to using this new form!
New Quote Option with New Order Form
With the New Order Form you'll have access to the updated Send a Quote option. Within the New Order Form, you'll see the option to "Send a Quote" in the bottom right corner once you've filled out all the required information. This way, you can use the same form for both scheduling a new order or sending a new quote!
"Send a Quote" option will be in the bottom right, and will be clickable once all required information is filled out.
Service, property info and date/time have to be filled out.
If you have the New Order Form set as the default, you will no longer see the "+ New Quote" orange button on the dashboard, new quotes will only be accessible from the New Order Form.
When you click "Send a Quote" a new module will populate where you can add a recipient or select a recipient, like client, if their information has been input.
You can send the quote to the contacts on the inspection, like the client and the client's agent, and to one additional recipient manually input.
Once you send the quote it will work as before, you'll see a success message and then the inspection will be available in your draft inspections.
For more information on sending quotes you can check out this article.
