The reinspection feature in Spectora is designed to make follow-up inspections seamless and efficient. Whether you need to verify that previously noted issues have been resolved or you are conducting a periodic reinspection, this feature will help you streamline the process.

If you're more of a visual learner, check out our YouTube video for additional information.

What is a Reinspection?

A reinspection is a secondary inspection that focuses on verifying the completion of repairs or corrections identified in the initial inspection. It allows inspectors to provide clients with updated reports that reflect the current condition of the property.

There are a few reasons why a reinspection may be necessary. It can be a helpful option if you need to revisit an inspection site for any of the following reasons: if repairs have been completed, if you were unable to inspect the area beforehand, or if the client simply requests one. The reinspection tool is a great feature that allows you to easily include any previous defects in a new report. This way, you can thoroughly re-inspect and address any issues that may have been missed before.

How to Enable Reinspections

To schedule a reinspection, you'll need to enable the option to create a reinspection report. Follow the step-by-step guide below to enable this feature.

💡Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

🔴 Please note the reinspection feature will not work on Special Forms.

How to Schedule a Reinspection

We offer you two convenient options for scheduling a reinspection. Option 1 allows you to create a brand-new inspection page including a reinspection report. Alternatively, option 2 allows you to add a reinspection report to an existing or previously built inspection. We'll guide you through both options in this section so you have all the information you need.

Option #1: How to Schedule a Reinspection as a New Inspection

One way to schedule reinspections is by adding a new inspection from the Internal Scheduler to your schedule. Just like when scheduling any other inspection, you'll have the opportunity to select your services. However, please keep in mind that selecting your usual service may not be the best fit for your reinspection. You can easily set up a Reinspection Service with specific fees under Settings > Services & Fees. No need to add a default template for this setup, as you'll be creating the reinspection report from the original inspection report. And if you'd like, you can also create a new Reinspection Agreement with terms for this service under Settings > Agreements, once that is done you can add the new agreement onto the reinspection. We hope this helps make your reinspection process smoother and more efficient!

💡Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

  1. Click "View" under the report you would like to set up the reinspection for.

  2. Click "Report Tools" in the top right corner.

  3. Select "Schedule Reinspection."

  4. If you want to revisit all defects, click "Select Visible Defects."

  5. If you do not want all defects included, simply check which defects you want added.

  6. Once your defects have been selected, click "Save Report for Inspection."

  7. Add the time/date of the reinspection.

  8. Add a service

  9. Enter any additional scheduling information.

  10. Click "Save."

✨ Keep in mind when scheduling the reinspection as a new inspection the Client Portal access will be separate from the original inspection.

Option #2: Adding a Reinspection Report to an Existing Inspection

Do you want to avoid scheduling a new inspection? Do you want to keep the same Client Portal for the reinspection? You can add a reinspection report to your existing inspection by following the guide below!

💡Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

  1. Click the three dots next to the report you will re-inspect.

  2. Click "Reinspection Report."

  3. Enter the address of the existing inspection you would like the report to be added to.

  4. Click on the inspection.

  5. Select your defects by clicking "Select Visible Defects" or checking which defects you want to inspect.

  6. Once your defects are checked, click "Copy Report To Inspection."
