What is a Re-Inspection?

A re-inspection is a secondary inspection that focuses on verifying the completion of repairs or corrections identified in the initial inspection. It allows inspectors to provide clients with updated reports that reflect the current condition of the property.

There are a few reasons why a re-inspection may be necessary. It can be a helpful option if you need to revisit an inspection site for any of the following reasons: if repairs have been completed, if you were unable to inspect the area beforehand, or if the client simply requests one. The reinspection tool is a great feature that allows you to easily include any previous defects in a new report. This way, you can thoroughly re-inspect and address any issues that may have been missed before.

How to Schedule a Re-Inspection

We offer you two convenient options for scheduling a re-inspection. Option 1 allows you to create a brand-new inspection page including a re-inspection report. Alternatively, option 2 allows you to add a re-inspection report to an existing or previously built inspection. We'll guide you through both options in this section so you have all the information you need.

Option #1: How to Schedule a Re-inspection as a New Inspection

One way to schedule re-inspections is by adding a new inspection to your schedule from the Internal Scheduler. Just like when scheduling any other inspection, you'll have the opportunity to select your services. However, please keep in mind that selecting your usual service may not be the best fit for your re-inspection. You can easily set up a Re-Inspection Service with specific fees under Settings > Services & Fees. No need to add a default template for this setup, as you'll be creating the report from the original inspection. And if you'd like, you can also create a new Re-Inspection Agreement with terms for this service under Settings > Agreements. We hope this helps make your re-inspection process smoother and more efficient!

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

  1. Click "View" under the report you would like to set up the re-inspection for.

  2. Click "Report Tools" in the top right corner.

  3. Select "Schedule Reinspection."

  4. If you want to revisit all defects, click "Select Visible Defects."

  5. If you do not want all defects included, simply check which defects you want added.

  6. Once your defects have been selected, click "Save Report for Inspection."

  7. Add the time/date of the re-inspection.

  8. Add a service

  9. Enter any additional scheduling information.

  10. Click "Save."

Option #2: Adding a Re-Inspection Report to an Existing Inspection

Do you want to avoid scheduling a new inspection? Have you already scheduled a re-inspection? You can add a re-inspection report to your existing inspection by following the guide below!

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

  1. Click the three dots next to the report you will re-inspect.

  2. Click "Reinspection Report."

  3. Enter the address of the existing inspection you would like the report to be added to.

  4. Click on the inspection.

  5. Select your defects by clicking "Select Visible Defects" or checking which defects you want to inspect.

  6. Once your defects are checked, click "Copy Report To Inspection."
