How to Edit Comments via the Web Editor

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to locate and edit a comment in your report, helping you maintain a professional and polished final product for your clients.


Editing an Informational Comment on the Web

In this section, we'll show you how to edit an information comment in the web editor. Check out this video walk-through below:

  1. Click on the inspection to open the Inspection Details page

  2. Click on the report name or edit in the Reports box to open the web editor

  3. Click on a section in the left column to open it

  4. Click on an item in the middle column to open it

  5. Click on the comment to expand it

  6. To edit the comment name, click the pencil icon to the right of the name

  7. Add or edit verbiage for the comment in the text box

  8. Click "Location" to add a location tag to the comment

  9. Add a photo or video to the comment by clicking +Photo, +Video, or +360

  • Expanding comments can seem a little tricky, but you can click the camera icon or the white space to expand comments:

Editing a Limitation on the Web Editor

In this section, we'll show you how to edit a limitation comment in the web editor. Check out the video walk-through below:

  1. Click on the inspection to open the Inspection Details page

  2. Click on the report name or edit in the Reports box to open the web editor

  3. Click on a section in the left column to open it

  4. Click on an item in the middle column to open it

  5. Click on the limitation to expand it

  6. To edit the limitation name, click the pencil icon to the right of the name

  7. Add or edit verbiage for the limitation in the text box

  8. Click "Location" to add a location tag to the limitation

  9. Add a photo or video to the limitation by clicking +Photo, +Video, or +360


Editing a Defect in the Web Editor

In this section, we'll show you how to edit a defect or observation comment in the web editor. Check out the video walk-through below:

  1. Click on the inspection to open the Inspection Details page

  2. Click on the report name or edit in the Reports box to open the web editor

  3. Click on a section in the left column to open it

  4. Click on an item in the middle column to open it

  5. Click on the defect to expand it

  6. To edit the defect name, click the pencil icon to the right of the name

  7. Click the preferred defect category to change it

  8. Add or edit verbiage for the defect in the text box

  9. Click "Location" to add a location tag to the defect

  10. To recommend a qualified professional, click the "Recommendation" dropdown

  12. Add a photo or video to the limitation by clicking +Photo, +Video, or +360


Editing Text in Comments on the Web Editor

You may need to edit text size, insert a link, create a bulleted list or even change the text color. In this section, we'll go over the different text box edit options you have in the V10 web editor. Check out the video walk-through below:

  • Inline style you can click to change the text size from the drop-down menu

  • B you can click to make the text bold

  • i you can click to make the text italic

  • U you can click to underline the text

  • A with the droplet icon you can use to change the text color

  • The ordered list you can use to generate a numbered list

  • The unordered list you can use to generate a bulleted list

  • Using the link icon you can insert a hyperlink

  • The photo and video icons can be used to insert a photo and a video within the text

  • The table icon you can use to create a table

  • The < > icon you can click to enter and exit code view

  • The A with a slash through it you can use to remove formatting - this will not remove the numbered or bulleted lists.

✨ Keep in mind you'll want to highlight the specific text you want to make changes to, or select the different text format options before inputting the text.
