In Spectora, including photos in your inspection reports adds valuable visual context for your clients. However, you may occasionally need to move photos between comments to ensure the right images are aligned with the correct findings. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to move photos from one comment to another, ensuring your report remains organized and professional.

✨ Moving a photo from one comment to another can only be done via the web report. It cannot be done via the mobile app.

Why Move Photos Between Comments?

There are several reasons you might need to move photos within a Spectora report:

  • Incorrect Association: A photo may have been added to the wrong comment or section.

  • Organizing Findings: You want to better organize your report by grouping relevant photos with specific comments.

  • Enhancing Clarity: Aligning photos with the right descriptions and observations makes it easier for clients to understand the context of each issue.

  3. Click on a section in the left column to open it

  4. Click on an item in the middle column to open it

  5. Click on the comment where your photo is located to open it

  6. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the photo you want to move

  7. Click "Move" in the drop-down menu

  8. In the pop-up window select the section > item > comment you want to move the photo to in each of the drop-down menus

  9. Click "MOVE" to confirm

  10. The photo will now show in the newly chosen comment only

✨ When moving a photo in the web editor it will be removed from the original comment and only show in the newly chosen comment.

Tips for Managing Photos in Spectora

  • Use Descriptive Captions: When adding photos, use clear captions to describe the issue shown in the image. This improves understanding for clients.

  • Organize Photos Efficiently: Group similar photos together in the same comment or section to avoid clutter and confusion.

  • Preview Your Report: Always preview the report after moving photos to ensure everything is aligned properly and looks professional.

  • Re-arranging Photos within a Comment: You can easily drag and drop to re-arrange photos within the same comment in the web editor. Once you drop the photo your changes will automatically save. This is helpful to organize your photos.
