You can easily attach PDFs to any Spectora inspection as a report or as "Additional Documents." This feature allows you to include important information, such as outside reports for mold, permits, or extra documentation, directly within the inspection.
In this guide, we'll show you how to add these PDFs to your inspections step-by-step, so you can provide your clients and agents with all the necessary information in one place.
Adding an Attachment as an Additional Document
In this section, you'll see how to add a file as an additional document to the inspection.
Click on the inspection to open the Inspection Details page
Click "+New" in the Additional Documents box
Name the document with a client-friendly facing name
Click "Choose File"
Select the document from your computer files
Click "Add Document"
The file will now show in the Additional Documents box
The file will show on the Client Portal in the "Documents" tab
It will also show in the "Attachments" section of the web report at the bottom of the left column
⚠️ Note: ⚠️
Additional documents won't be visible in the client portal view until all Agreements have been signed.
Adding an Attachment as a Report
Need an attachment to show as its own report and not an additional document? Follow the steps in this section to see how.

Click "Attach" in the Reports box
Name the document with a client-friendly facing name
Click "Choose File"
Select the document from your computer files
Click "Add Report Attachment"
The file will now show in the Reports box

It will also show in the Reports tab
⚠️ Note: ⚠️
Attachments added in the Reports box will not be accessible in the client portal until the report is published.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the clients/agents receive an email after each document is uploaded to the inspection?
They do not! The only time they would receive additional emails is if you re-publish the reports or make changes to the inspection details (like date or time) which would necessitate a new agreement.
I am trying to attach a report document, but it goes to a page that says this request can not be handled. What does this mean?
If you're seeing the page time out or an error message pops up when trying to attach a document, this means that the file you're attempting to attach is too large.
The file attachment feature will only work with files that are 50MB or smaller. You may need to compress your file to make it under 50MB.
