It's important to keep track of your Spectora Subscriptions to ensure they remain active while you're inspecting. In this article, we'll cover how to manage your subscriptions.

Pausing Your Subscription

Unfortunately, Spectora does not have a way to pause a subscription. If you have a monthly subscription, you can easily cancel your subscription before the next billing date, and re-subscribe when ready to return. With annual subscriptions, you can cancel the subscription at any time and re-subscribe at any time as well.* If you have an additional inspector who is no longer working with you, you can unassign them from the subscription and leave it "active" until you hire a new inspector.

*Note: Refunds or prorated credits are not given when canceling a subscription. You can view our full return policy for more information.

Canceling Your Subscription

This section provides step-by-step instructions for canceling your software subscription. While we don't offer a way to pause or hold a subscription, you can cancel your subscription and resubscribe when you're ready.

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right

  2. Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click "Subscriptions"

  4. Click "Cancel" next to the subscription you wish to cancel

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

When canceling a subscription, there will not be a refund or credit for any unused days. It is recommended to cancel before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next month or year.

Note: When canceling your subscription, your account remains "active" in the system. Keeping your account active allows you to still access your account and see your templates, settings, and reports. You will not be able to schedule a new inspection until a new subscription is set up and paid for. Once you cancel your subscription, you will not be billed any further.

Upgrading Your Subscription

This section provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading your subscription from monthly to annual. With the annual plan, you can save money!

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right

  2. Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click "Subscriptions"

  4. Click "Go Annual" next to the subscription you wish to upgrade

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

When upgrading to an annual subscription, your current monthly subscription will remain active until the next billing date. At that time, your annual subscription will kick in. You'll be charged the annual subscription fee on the next billing date. Alternatively, you can decide to move from annual to monthly. When you switch to monthly, your annual subscription will remain active until the billing date, at which time your monthly subscription will start.

Reassigning a Subscription:

This section provides step-by-step instructions for reassigning or unassigning a subscription. Reassigning or unassigning a subscription is helpful when an inspector leaves the company or a new inspector is being hired.

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right

  2. Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click "Subscriptions"

  4. Click the ✏️ icon next to the subscription you wish to reassign

  5. Select the inspector you want to assign the subscription to OR select "None/Unassign" to leave it open

  6. Click "Reassign"

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

By unassigning a subscription, you can keep it paid and active in the software. It will then be available for you to use on your next inspector. When unassigning a subscription, there will not be a refund or credit for any unused days.

Changing your Billing Date:

This section provides step-by-step instructions for changing your billing date if you want to be charged earlier than your current billing date. Some companies prefer all of their subscriptions to be charged on the same date - this is how you can accomplish that.

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right

  2. Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click "Subscriptions"

  4. Click the ✏️ icon next to the upcoming date of your subscription

  5. Select the new billing date from the calendar

  6. Click "Save"

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

We'll give you a prorated discount on your next payment. The prorated discount is calculated by how many days are left in your current subscription. Each day is calculated at $1.37. You'll be billed the total cost of the subscription minus $1.37 X days.

Managing Your Payment Method:

This section provides step-by-step instructions for managing your payment method on file. You can add a new card and remove an old card at any time.

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right

  2. Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click "Payment Methods"

  4. Click "Remove" to delete any old card(s) you no longer wish to use

  5. Click "Add New Card" to add a new payment method

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

It's important to keep your payment method on file current so your subscription does not risk cancellation. If your card is lost, stolen, or expired, you'll want to add your new card as soon as possible. If your card on file/payment fails, the system will automatically recharge the card during your 5-day grace period before canceling.

Managing Your Spectora Advanced Subscription

This section provides step-by-step instructions for managing your Spectora Advanced. The steps below will walk you through updating your billing card for Advanced and canceling Advanced.

Note: Spectora Advanced billing is separate from your monthly/annual software subscription. If you change your payment method for your software subscription, you'll need to change it separately for Spectora Advanced.

  1. Click on your profile picture in the top right

  2. Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click "Spectora Advanced"

  4. Click the card number starting with XXXX to update your card

  5. Click "Disable Advanced" to cancel Spectora Advanced

πŸ’‘Quick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

When canceling Advanced, you'll be charged any outstanding inspections that are set to bill. Once those inspections have been billed, all new inspections will not have the Advanced fee associated.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I pay my subscription billing with a bank account instead of a debit or credit card?

    • Unfortunately not! Subscription payments do need to be done with a debit or credit card.

  • I added a new inspector to my team but he doesn't need access for a couple of months. Can I suspend his account?

    • We aren't able to suspend or pause subscriptions at this time. You can cancel the subscription for now, and then reactivate it when you need it.

  • I don't do a lot of business/inspections at the moment, do you have a pay-per-inspection option?

    • At this time, we don't have a pay-per-inspection option. We offer monthly and yearly software subscriptions only.

  • I have both a software subscription and a website through Spectora. If I cancel the software subscription, what happens to my website?

    • If you cancel only the software subscription, your website subscription will remain active and your site will remain online. Website hosting is its own subscription and will remain active until you cancel it separately.

  • Can my new employee/inspector share my account/subscription?

    • No, each inspector profile needs its own subscription.

  • I'm having another inspector help me out with a large job. He already has a Spectora account. Can he use his own subscription/account to inspect with me?

    • No. Even though the other inspector may have their own Spectora account, it is not connected to your company. If you need the inspector to be able to access the report and fill it out with you, you'll need to add a subscription for them under your company.

  • How can I check to see what card is getting billed for my subscription?

    • You'll find that on your Billing page!

      • Click on your name in the top right corner

      • Click "Billing" in the dropdown menu

      • Click "Payment Methods"
