How to Rename a Template

This section provides detailed instructions on how to change the name of your template and report. There are multiple methods available to rename a template, ensuring flexibility for different user workflows.

Method 1: Via My Templates Dashboard

  1. From your dashboard, click on "Templates."

  2. Navigate to "My Templates."

  3. Locate and open the template you would like to change.

  4. Click on the template's title at the top of the page.

  5. Insert the name of your template in the "Name" box.

  6. Enter the name of the report in the "Friendly Display Name" box.

  7. Scroll down and hit "Save."

Method 2: Using the Template Settings Menu

  1. Open the template editor in the Spectora web application.

  2. Click the three-dot menu located in the top-right corner of the editor.

  3. Select Template Settings from the dropdown menu.

  4. Update the template name in the designated field.

  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

Method 3: Using the Pencil Icon

  1. Open the template you wish to rename so that its title is visible.

  2. Hover over the template title at the top of the editor.

  3. Click the pencil icon that appears next to the title.

  4. Enter the new name for the template.

  5. Press Enter or click outside the field to save the new name.

🌟 Quick note: when selecting a display name, the "Name" will appear for your reference, while the "Friendly Display Name" will be visible to the client for a more personalized touch.

Tips for Renaming Templates

  • Use descriptive names to easily differentiate between templates, especially if you manage multiple versions.

  • Ensure the new name reflects the purpose or type of inspection the template is designed for.
