How to Share a Template with a Spectora Inspector

Share a template with another Spectora inspector

Do you need to share a template with another Spectora user? This feature is perfect for those who want to either sell their template or simply lend a helping hand to a fellow inspector.


Before We Begin

🛑 Check Permissions

To share a template, you'll need to have editing permissions. Go to Settings > TEAM and make sure the Edit Template permission is checked on. If you don't have access to this setting, please reach out to an admin at your company for further assistance!

🛑 Check Email Address

To share templates, please check that the recipient has a Spectora account and that you input their associated email address. Also, kindly keep in mind that only inspectors can be added as recipients, not support or office staff.


How to Share a Template to a Spectora User

  1. From your dashboard, click "Templates."

  2. Click "My Templates."

  3. Click on the Template you would like to share.

  4. Hit the three dots in the top right corner.

  5. Click "Share Template."

  6. Enter the email address of the inspector in the "Search by email address" box.

  7. Click "Send Template."

Once the template has been sent, it will automatically appear in the inspector's "My Templates" section with the display name as "Template Name from Company Name".

For instance, if I share my template "Main Inspection Report" from my company "W Inspections", it will show up as "Main Inspection Report from W Inspections". How convenient is that?!


Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why am I getting this error "No Inspector Found." when trying to share a template?

    • If you encounter this error while trying to share, double-check that the email is spelled correctly, that the inspector has a Spectora account, and that you're sending it to the email address they log in with; not the company or support email. You cannot share templates with a support staff account, only with inspectors.

  • How can I share a template with someone outside of Spectora?

    • To share your template with someone who does not have a Spectora account, you would have to export the template and send it manually. Check out this article on how to export your template.
