For Inspectors that prefer to collect payment after the inspection is complete, we've added a new setting for you! Collect payment after publishing will be a company-wide setting available to toggle on, changing how payment in the Client Portal is displayed.
Enabling this setting will add a message to the Client Portal for companies with the feature enabled: “Payment to be collected after inspection is published”. Once the inspection is published, it will revert back to the current Client Portal behavior.
What are the Benefits?
If services change between when the inspection is scheduled and when it's published, the final bill will reflect those changes. Having the client not pay until the inspection is complete helps reduce refund processing when services are removed and avoids extra steps for the client if services are added.
Enabling the Setting
Navigate to your Settings > Client Portal (under Business Tools) > toggle on "Collect payment after publish".
Once enabled, the setting “Require payment to release report(s)” will be automatically enabled and locked when scheduling a new inspection.
This is a company wide setting, once enabled it will apply to all future scheduled inspections.
This cannot be enabled on individual inspections, it is only company wide.
It will not retroactively update on any past inspections.
When this setting is enabled, the option for "Allow deferred payment" will be blocked and cannot be enabled.
What Your Clients See
With this setting enabled, what your client sees on the Client Portal will change. Instead of "Payment due" the payment area will say "Payment to be collected after inspection is published" and the "Learn More" button will not be present.
Once the inspection is published, this button will revert back to the original "Payment due" verbiage and the blue “Pay Now” or "Learn More" button depending on if you have Spectora Payments enabled or disabled.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my reports stay locked until payment is received?
Yes, with this feature enabled we automatically enable “Require payment to release report(s)” to reduce risk of clients accessing the report before the payment is made.
I have a third-party payment integration. Will this setting work?
Unfortunately, this is not compatible for companies using a third-party payment integration due to the additional support and management required.
