How to Change Roles

Here's how you can toggle back and forth between your multiple roles under one company. Keywords: Wrong Account, Change Profiles, Role

Are you an inspector who's utilized multiple locations for your company? Or maybe the head honcho inspector for one location, who also needs administrative access for your new franchise?

We understand that there are some scenarios that require you to wear more than one hat under a company, and we try to make that easy for you on our end using the Change Role button on your account. Utilizing this tool allows you to toggle back and forth between your different roles that are under the same organization's umbrella.

You can have an admin/support staff, inspector, or organization manager role under one account. A support staff role with all admin permissions enabled is considered a manage role and this is different from the organization manager view.

Note: To use this tool as intended, you will have to use the same email across all accounts. Please reach out to our team on the bubble to help you set up an additional account under the same email.

Changing Roles on the Web:

You can easily change your active role via the web. This allows you to quickly switch between different roles and locations. In this section, we'll show you how to change roles on the web.

  1. Click your name in the top right corner

  2. Click "Change Role" in the dropdown menu

  3. Click the role you would like to switch to

Changing Roles on the App:

As the Spectora app is almost exclusively a report editor tool the Change Role option will only be available in the app if there is more than one inspector role under one email. To toggle back and forth between your inspector roles, tap the hamburger button to open the side menu, and select the Change Roles button. Then select which inspector account you wish to work under.

Note: Changing roles within the app does require either a Wi-Fi connection or cell service. If in an area with low cell service, we recommend making sure your app is open under the correct role and company prior to heading out!

Version 9 (Legacy) App

  1. Tap the 3 lines in the top left corner

  2. Tap "Change Role" in the menu

  3. Tap the role you would like to switch to

Version 10 (Next Gen) App

  1. Tap the 3 lines in the top left corner

  2. Tap "Change Role" in the menu

  3. Tap the role you would like to switch to
