Overview
With Spectora’s AI-powered comment assist, inspectors can create new comments more efficiently and update existing comments, saving time while maintaining quality. This feature is available exclusively for checkbox and multiple-choice comments.
Simply select the appropriate checkbox or multiple-choice field, and the AI will craft a well-structured, professional comment tailored to the chosen inputs, including multiple-choice answers! Making it easier than ever to capture important details.
Important Notes:
The AI option will only be available for Checkbox or Multiple-Choice answer-type comments. It is not available for other comment types such as text, date, or number fields.
For Defect comments, the AI tool will populate the location and recommended contractor that you can choose to include. These will be based on what you already have set up.
If no option can be found by AI, the contractor will default to "Qualified Professional."

Click into your Templates
Click the Section you want your comment in
Click the Item you want your comment in
Click "+New" to add a new comment
Ensure the answer format is a checkbox or multiple choice
Click "Generate Using AI"
Input a few keywords describing your comment
Select the desired text length
Click "Generate"
Select each field you want included in your comment (here you can regenerate)
Click "Use Selected"
Make any edits, then click "Save"
That's it! Your new AI-generated comment is saved to your template.

Click "Edit Using AI"
Input a few keywords describing your comment
Select the desired text length
Click "Generate"
Select each field you want included in your comment (here you can regenerate)
Click "Use Selected" - this will save the changes
That's it, your changes have been saved!

There are three different comment text lengths that you can choose from. Normal, Short, and Long. Below, we will display examples of each comment length.
Normal:
(Typically 2-3 sentences, 26-60 words)
Short:
(Typically 1 sentence, 15-25 words)
Long:
(Typically 4-5 sentences, 61-100 words)

Regenerating New Content
Once you've generated a new comment with AI, you can choose to regenerate it. This is great if you'd like to tweak the comment name, adjust multiple-choice options, or refine the description text.
Simply click "Regenerate" and let the AI create new content for you.

No, this AI is not trained on any of your personal data, inspection reports, or account information. It was trained on publicly available data and licensed datasets only.
Can I use this outside of the template editor?
Not right now — this AI feature is currently only available in the template editor. However, we do plan to expand access and make it available in the mobile app in the near future. Stay tuned!
