How to Add Videos to Your Report in the V10 App

Videos are a great way to enhance your inspection reports, showing issues and features with more depth. When you're using the app to fill out your report, it's easy to shoot new videos or add ones from your phone's gallery. This feature lets you include real-time footage right in the report, making your findings clearer and more detailed.

This guide will walk you through how to add videos to your reports on both Apple and Android devices. You'll learn how to record new videos during the inspection and upload existing ones from your gallery. This way, you can seamlessly include video content in your reports, whether you're on-site or finishing up later.

✨ Video uploads on the mobile app are limited to 30 seconds, but there is no size limit.


Adding Videos on an Apple Device

In this section, we'll show you how to add videos to your app using an Apple device.

  1. Tap the inspection in the app to open it

  2. Swipe up on the Reports tab

  3. Tap "Start" to open the report

  4. Tap the section to open it

  5. Tap the item to open it

  6. On the comment, tap the "Video" icon

  7. Tap "Allow" to give the app access to your camera

  8. Tap "Allow" to give the app access to your microphone

  9. Tap "Allow Full Access" to give the app access to your photo/video library

  10. Tap the red record button to start recording your video

  11. Tap the red square to stop recording

  12. Tap "Use Video" to add it to your report

  13. The comment will now have a red number when the video has been added

  14. To add a video from your phone's gallery, tap the "Gallery" button

  15. Select the video from your gallery, then tap "Add"

✨ The "Allow" options will only show up the first time you take a video in the app. After you've given access to the app for your camera, microphone, and gallery, you will not be prompted to grant access again.

Have trouble adding videos?

If you're having trouble adding videos in the app, you may need to check your app permissions in your phone settings.

  • Tap on "Settings"

  • Search for Spectora

  • Tap on the V10 icon

  • Check that all settings are enabled.

  • On that same screen, tap on Photos to make sure "all photos" are selected.

  1. Tap the inspection in the app to open it

  2. Swipe up on the Reports tab

  3. Tap "Start" to open the report

  4. Tap the section to open it

  5. Tap the item to open it

  7. Tap "While using the app" to allow the app to take pictures and record videos

  8. Tap "Allow" to give the app access to your photo/video library

  9. Tap the red record button to start recording your video

  10. Tap the button again to stop recording

  11. Tap "OK" to add the video to your report

  12. The comment will now have a red number when the video has been added

  13. To add a video from your phone's gallery, tap the "Gallery" button

  14. Select the video from your gallery, then tap "Add"
