In this article, we'll be discussing the Texas WDI Template. Designed with convenience in mind, this template effortlessly gathers information from the inspection and your profile. However, allow us to guide you through the process of inputting the address, signature, credentials, and diagram to ensure a seamless experience. Let's get started!

What is a WDI?

A Wood Destroying Insect Inspection Report, commonly abbreviated as WDI or WDIR, is a report that details findings from a thorough visual inspection of a home by a certified pest control company.

How to Add the WDI Template

This section will cover how to add the Texas WDI Template to your template library.

Please note: Since the Texas WDI Template is a Specialized PDF output you will not be able to add or remove sections, items, and comments. We aren't able to edit the special forms in that way since certain changes can break the PDF output and not allow the report to load properly.

๐Ÿ’กQuick tip: Click on the video above to expand it in another window.

  1. Click on "Templates"

  2. Navigate to "Template Center"

  3. Click "Texas WDI 2020."

  4. Click "Add Template"

How to Fill out a WDI

We have designed this form with your convenience in mind. Simply select your answer by checking or unchecking the comment box.

To mark "Yes" as the answer, simply check the comment box. However, if the answer is "No" or "Not Applicable," you can leave the comment box unchecked or blank.

For example, the question on Line 1E is "Inspector is Technician?." You can check the box next to the comment to answer yes, or, just leave the comment unchecked if the answer is no.

How to Add Default Answers to a WDI

Looking to streamline the process and save time? With our default answers and the ability to have them automatically checked, you can make things even more efficient. In this section, we'll guide you on how to easily add a "Default Value" or set it to "Default to Checked."

How to Add a "Default Value" to a WDI

By including "Default Values" in the template, you can ensure that this information appears on every report without fail. This feature will come in handy, especially for line 1B, where you can add your "Business License Number" effortlessly on the template. This way, the number will automatically be applied to the report, saving you time and effort.

How to Add "Default to Checked" to a WDI

If you select the "Default to Checked" option, the comment will always appear on your report. This feature is especially useful for comments that require a checkmark each time, such as Line 1E's "Inspector is Certified Applicator?" and "Inspector is Technician?" options. So if you want to make sure these specific comments are always included, the "Default to Checked" feature is a great choice!

How to Add Your Signature to a WDI

In this section, we'll cover how to add your signature to the WDI report on line 7A.

Important: The Signature line (7A) is not manually editable. It pulls in the signature automatically from the assigned inspector's profile.

If you don't have a signature file created, we recommend checking out SignWell; it's free and easy to use!

๐ŸŒŸPlease ensure that the file is formatted in either PNG or JPG format, as we are unable to accept PDF files.๐ŸŒŸ

The inspection address will automatically populate onto the Texas WDI report from the inspection detail page. See the screenshots below on how the inspection details address will look on the PDF form.

Please note, that if the address is changed and the report is already built, you will need to add a new report to update the address form.

How to Add a Diagram to a WDI

Our software does not have diagram-building options, so we recommend using a 3rd party app if you'd like to draw a diagram. You can then add that diagram as a photo to the "Upload Diagram" comment.

This comment will be located under "Diagram of Structure" Section and it can be added into the comment labeled "Upload Diagram."

Here are a few that are used by our biggest companies in Texas.

FAQ

  • Is there a North Carolina or other state form for WDI?

Not at this time. We don't have a way to build a template out of just any special form because having a specialized PDF output is a huge developer lift so we only have it for our most used forms at this time

  • Can I add my own comments to the WDI template?

No, you are unable to include any extra comments to the template because doing so will disrupt the proper formatting of the PDF document.
