Using "And" and "Or" on action rules to achieve the desired outcome

When using Spectora Advanced to create multiple-rule Actions, you'll notice that you can toggle the Action rule between ANY and ALL. The ANY and ALL options decide whether all of the rules of an Action or any of the rules must apply to send.

Each of these options dictates what requirements need to be met in order for the Action to trigger.

Let's go over each one a bit more!

ALL / AND:

When using the "ALL/AND" option, this tells the system that all requirements have to be met for this action to be sent out. This is great to use for upsell emails or reminders!

Example - "And" Rules

With more than 1 rule on an Action, having "To trigger this Action ALL of the following must apply" means every rule must be true for the Action to fire.

For Example, if your 2 rules are:
- Does not have, Service Addon, Standard Inspection > Sewer Scope
AND

- Does not have, Service Addon, Standard Inspection > Septic Inspection

..then this Action will fire only if the client selects neither of those add-on services. If one of the add-on services were selected, this action would not fire.

ANY / OR

The "ANY/OR" option means any of the rules can apply for this to be sent.

This is great to use for specific customization of what messages and updates you want to be sent based on services, specific contacts, having agreements signed, inspections paid for, and more!

Example - "Or" Rules

With more than 1 rule on an Action, having "To trigger this Action ANY of the following must apply" means only one rule must be true for the Action to fire.

For this example, you offer 2 Sewer Scope options—one as a stand-alone service to be offered, and one as an add-on service to a home inspection. Let's say you outsource your sewer scopes to a 3rd party. The "OR" option works perfectly for this scenario so whether a client chooses your Stand Alone Sewer Scope or Standard Inspection with Sewer Scope add-on, the email will get to where it needs to be!

- Has, Services, Stand Alone Sewer Scope

- Has, Service Addon, Standard Inspection > Sewer Scope
