How to Save a Report as a Template
On the Inspection Details page, find the report you want to convert.
Click the "..." menu next to the report.
Select Save as Template.
A green notice confirms the save. The new template shows up in My Templates within a few moments.
The new template includes the report's sections, items, and comments. It does not override any existing template — a brand new template is created.
The template is automatically named Template from [street address] (date and time). If the report has no address, the report ID is used instead.

This is available to any user with template editing permissions — no additional setup is required. If you don't have that permission, you won't see the "Save as Template" option.

If a save fails, an orange banner appears on the Inspection Details page with next steps and a reference number for Support. You can dismiss this banner.

No. Saving a report as a template always creates a new template — it never overrides an existing one.

No. This feature isn't available on reinspections, reports hidden from viewing, other special forms, or reports that haven't been built.
What happens to a TREC report when I save it as a template?
It stays a TREC template.
Can I save a Wind Mitigation or 4-Point Inspection report?
No. this feature is not available on special forms.
