✨ By default, Pay at Close is enabled for all services once it's turned on in payment settings. You can disable it for specific services as needed.

Completing Pay at Close Setup in the Client Portal

Clients can complete PAC setup in the Spectora client portal by following these steps:

  1. Select the PAC option and fill out all required fields, including:

    • Name, phone number, and email

    • Closing date and details (e.g., title company or closing attorney)

    • Backup credit card information

    • Mailing address

  2. Review and sign the PAC agreement displayed in the portal.

  3. Click Next to finalize the setup. If an error occurs after signing and clicking Next, note the exact error message to identify the issue.

Configuring Pay at Close Fees

To configure PAC fees:

  1. Go to Settings → Payments → Pay at Close.

  2. Enable the PAC fee and set an amount between $1 and $100. This fee will appear as a separate line item at checkout.

  3. Note: Enabling the PAC fee disables the “Minimum amount for Pay at Close” setting. If you prefer not to display the PAC fee as a separate line item, disable the PAC fee in Settings → Payments → Pay at Close. Clients can still choose PAC as a payment method without seeing the additional fee upfront.

Collect after Publishing

The Deferred Payments feature has been replaced by the Collect after Publishing option. This updated feature allows you to delay payment capture until the inspection report is published. To enable this:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Client Portal.

  2. Check the box for Collect after Publishing. This change ensures a smoother payment process and eliminates the need for manual deferred payment settings.

Troubleshooting Collect after Publishing

Email Validation Errors

If the email address is invalidated during PAC setup, click the blue Next button again to retry the validation. This often resolves the issue.

Missing Client Information

Ensure the client’s phone number and email address are saved in their contact record. These details must be on the primary client’s record for PAC to be available.

Offering PAC After a Refund

To enable PAC for a separate inspection after a refund:

  1. Go to Settings → Services & Fees.

  2. Enable PAC for the relevant inspection service.

  3. Add the service to the original inspection if needed. The client can then set up PAC in their portal for the new inspection.

  • If you cannot find the Deferred Payments option, it has been replaced by Collect after Publishing. Ensure you are looking under Settings → Client Portal.

  • Deferred Payments are incompatible with ACH payments, and the "pass credit card fee" option is disabled when using this feature.
