In the world of home inspections, not every appointment is set in stone. Sometimes, you need to schedule an inspection that hasn't been fully confirmed yet. Spectora makes this process simple and efficient, allowing you to keep track of potential inspections while waiting for final confirmation.
Here's how you can set up an unconfirmed inspection in Spectora.
Benefits of Using Unconfirmed Inspections
Flexibility: Allows you to tentatively schedule inspections without committing until final confirmation is received.
βOrganization: Keeps your schedule organized by clearly distinguishing between confirmed and unconfirmed appointments.
βImproved Communication: Helps in managing client expectations and maintaining transparent communication.

Scheduling an Unconfirmed Inspection
When booking an unconfirmed inspection, it's recommended to un-check all inspectors. You can leave an inspector assigned, but the Online Scheduler will block the time slot from being scheduled. Scheduling an unconfirmed inspection is the same general process as scheduling a regular confirmed inspection. The only information required to Save an inspection is a complete address, including square footage and year built. Any additional details can be added later if they're not available to you now.
Click "+New Inspection"
Click the "Select an Inspector" dropdown menu and uncheck all inspectors
Select a date/time and enter the address as usual
Enter the client's information as normal
Select your services & add-ons
Uncheck the "Confirmed Inspection" box in the Miscellaneous section
The "Disable Automated Notifications" box will automatically check after deselecting 'Confirmed Inspection'
Click "Save Inspection"
The Inspection Details page will show an orange banner stating that the inspection is unconfirmed
The dashboard calendar will show the inspection with an orange "Confirm" icon
Rescheduling an Unconfirmed Inspection
If the inspection needs to be rescheduled, you can do this now by clicking on the date and time above the inspection address.
Click on the unconfirmed inspection to open the Inspection Details page
Click the date & time below Inspection Details
Select a new date/time in the calendar dropdown
Click "Reschedule Inspection"
The new date and time will show on the inspection, but it will remain unconfirmed
Confirming the Inspection
Once you're ready, you can confirm the inspection in one of two ways. You can choose to either confirm with notifications still disabled or confirm and send notifications. Both options are under the orange banner at the top of the Inspection Details page.
Click on the inspection to open the Inspection Details page
Click "+New" in the People box
Click "+Inspector" in the dropdown menu
Select an inspector from the dropdown menu
Click "Add Inspector"
You can confirm the inspection while keeping the notifications disabled or confirm and send notifications to the client/agent
To send notifications immediately to clients/agents, click the "Confirm and Send Notifications" button
If you do not want any notifications sent out yet, click "Confirm with notifications disabled"
If you confirm with notifications disabled, be sure to click "Turn on and Requeue Notifications" when you're ready to send out the notifications to clients/agents
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I un-confirm a confirmed inspection?
Unfortunately not. Once an inspection is confirmed, there is no way to undo it/unconfirm it.
However, you can workaround this by disabling the notifications, and then rescheduling the inspection for a time outside of your availability so it's no longer blocking a spot that someone else could book with you. Then once you have the new confirmed date/time, you can turn the notifications back on and reschedule it to its appropriate spot.
