Happy Friday! Here's some important news:

๐Ÿ“ฑ Big Changes in Text Messaging

Big telecom is cracking down on text message spam and it is affecting how you send text messages.

Starting September 30th, telecom companies will begin enforcing new rules around software platforms sending text messages on their users' behalf (like Spectora.) They are essentially demanding more traceability and consumer protection.

You can read the full details here, but the long-and-short of it is that we will be requiring a custom phone number for $20/month if you would like to send customized text messages from our platform.

If you use Automations and do not want to buy a custom number, you can use our default text message templates.

We hope this solution allows businesses that find great value in text messaging to continue to use it, while those that do not won't have to spend anything more.

To draw a metaphor to your business, this is similar to finding out that radon test kits are getting more expensive and there will be more regulatory requirements for them. Most would raise the price of radon inspections.

๐Ÿ”ง Feature of the Week: Calendar Events

If you have an event that isnโ€™t reoccurring, like a doctors appointment or taking a day off, adding an event to your calendar is the best way to block off your availability for that time. To add an event, click on the date and add your event. Bonus Tip: You can sync your Google Calendar to do this for you!
