Part of Spectora Advanced, Service Areas allows you to set up boundaries where each inspector performs inspections. This is useful when you operate over a large geographic area or are trying to optimize efficiency for multiple inspectors.

Enable Service Areas

Once you've activated Spectora Advanced, pop into Settings->Advanced Tools and enable Service Areas:

Now you can visit your Availability page (the same place you set your hours):

And see the extra control for "Service Area":

Once clicked, you'll see a map that allows you to draw the boundaries of the Service Area. Click "Draw Service Area" to enable drawing mode and click on the map to add another vertex:

Note that multiple polygons can be used (if the inspector works in two disjointed areas), and you can also edit or remove existing polygons:

Note that if you enable Service Areas but leave a map blank the inspector can be scheduled for inspections anywhere!

Service Areas in Effect

When scheduling your own inspections, you will now see warnings if the assigned inspector(s) are outside their service area (though you may still schedule the inspector):

Within the Online Schedule, the available time slots and inspectors displayed will only include those where the inspector is within their service area:

This ensures that an inspector with a defined service area is never scheduled for an inspection outside of it! (Unless you manually schedule it yourself.)
